Shoreline Construction

Shoreline Construction/Docks-if you plan on building a dock, boat house, fence, steps, shoreline-based shelter or if you plan on installing utilities, culverts, water intakes or if you plan to dredge or place fill dirt on the shoreline, you need to make sure you have the correct permit from the Tennessee Valley Authority.  Please visit https://www.tva.com/environment/shoreline-construction-permits to find out all you need to know.

Shoreline Stabilization

Shoreline Stabilization is an issue that many homeowners on Norris Lake have to deal with.  Visit https://www.tva.com/environment/environmental-stewardship/land-management/shoreline-stabilization for TVA’s best practices for stabilization. Please note that a permit will most likely be required for bank stabilization projects.

Dock Permitting

Please note that if you purchase a house on Norris Lake with an existing dock and you plan on making structural alterations or additions, you also might need a permit.
