Thank you for registering for the Norris Lake Cleanup.

This is a paddle-only event. If you requested to reserve a (free) kayak to borrow for this event, we will send you an email confirming your registration since the kayak reservations are first come, first serve.  You are welcome to bring your own kayak, paddleboard or canoe.  Please note that motorized vessels will not be participating in this event.

Please remember the following:

  • Volunteers will need to meet at Hickory Star Marina by 9 a.m.
  • If the volunteer is a minor and did not transport themselves to the cleanup, a guardian will be required to participate in the activities or remain at the launch for the duration of the cleanup.
  • Participants are encouraged to bring gloves and wear tennis shoes, boots or other shoes with tread.  The lake banks will be muddy so please wear appropriate footwear. We recommend that you DO NOT WEAR new, white shoes or any shoes that might get ruined.  You will be on lake banks with clay mud that stains.
  • If you are volunteering to fulfill service hours, please bring all appropriate forms to be completed by the organizers or email them to info@norrislakeproject.com.
  • Boat transportation will be provided but if you a have boat, you are welcome to bring it.
  • You are also encouraged to bring a life jacket.  If you do not have one, one will be provided and must be worn while the boat is in motion. All children 12 years of age and younger are required to wear a Coast Guard-approved PFD while on the open deck of a recreational boat except when anchored, moored, or aground.
  • Bags will be provided by the Tennessee Valley Authority.
  • Each participant will receive a free T-shirt or hat.
